Taylor just loved the Little Mermaid.  She would always tell me that she wanted to be a mermaid!

Always Smiling!

Taylor was diagnosed with Stage IV rhabdomyosarcoma in May of 2004.  She went through one year of chemotherapy and 30 radiation treatments.  She was declared cancer free in May 2005.  She enjoyed 3 months of life without chemo and hospitals.  Her routine scans in August of 2005 showed that the cancer had returned to the original site.  Taylor received 10 additional radiation treatments and one round of chemotherapy.  She lost her battle on October 15, 2005 around 9:00 am.

Silly smiles!

This website was created to honor a beautiful angel, Taylor Elisabeth.  She touched so many lives in her 8 short years, and she will never be forgotten.

Fun in the sun!

One out of every 330 children will get cancer before age 20. On average 46 children (2 classrooms) are diagnosed with cancer each day in the United States. Despite major treatment advances for most childhood cancers, improved treatment of alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma has lagged. The statistics for survival of metastatic rhabdomyosarcoma are dismal.  Only about 350 children in the United States develop Rhabdomyosarcoma each year. Because this disease is rare, it doesn’t often make the news; or attract funding and medical research. We need more funds to research and develop better treatment methods to save these children.

Taylor fought this horrific disease for 17 long months.  Chemo was hard on her body, and she struggled with almost every imaginable side effect.  Through her struggles, she never complained and always managed a smile for those who loved her.  She could brighten the room with her smile.  She was truly an angel here on earth.

These are pictures of Taylor before life with cancer.  It is hard to remember those times!  Regardless, there were more than 6 glorious years of her life without cancer hell.  Oh what beautiful years those were!  We were so lucky to have those years.  Of course, we always wish there were more years like that with her.  She was so beautiful and full of life!  Oh how I miss her.
